In 1987, the Webermeiers sold National Park Village to the current owners who continued its tradition until a tragic fire destroyed much of the complex in 1992. Fortunately, an idea evolved among the owners and some key people within the Park Service which led to a tremendous effort, spanning nearly a decade, resulting finally in Rocky Mountain Gateway and Fall River Visitor Center.
